
Three picnic shelters are available for rent at Memorial Park. Each shelter contains six picnic tables, two grills and ceiling fans. To reserve a shelter, call the park office at 706-613-3580.
MEMORIAL PARK SHELTER RENTAL FEES & RULES
1. Fees and Payments: All fees must be paid at the time the reservation is taken.
Weekday Rental Fees: $20 – Two (2) Hours; $30 – Up to Four (4) Hours; $50 – Over Four (4) Hours.
Weekend/Holiday Rental Fees: $30 – Two (2) Hours; $40 – Up to Four (4) Hours; $60 – Over Four (4) Hours.
2. Rental Party must vacate the facility when the Reservation Time expires.
3. Rental of any facility entitles the renting party to exclusive use of that facility only. It does not entitle renting party exclusive use of the nearby playground, open field, etc.
4. Parking spaces are NOT reserved or guaranteed with reservations. No parking on grass areas.
5. Shelter #3 rentals: The GATE at the bottom of the hill will not be unlocked except for emergency or maintenance vehicles.
6. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are not allowed on park premises.
7. NO MUSIC will be allowed at Memorial park except at special events or programs approved by the Leisure Services Department.
8. Smoking is not allowed in any Athens-Clarke County Park, Recreation Center or Youth Sports Complex.
9. Camping is not allowed within the park.
10. Vehicles allowed on designated paved surfaces only.
11. No dogs or other pets are allowed in the zoo. Pets must be on a leash at all times in all County Parks.
12. No Swimming allowed in the lake at any time.
13. If park staff have problems with any group of individual obeying the rules, the party will be warned ONCE. If this warning does not solve the problem, the group or individual will be asked to leave the Park.
14. CLARKE COUNTY SCHOOL GROUPS - FIELD TRIPS PLEASE give TWO (2) WEEKS ADVANCE RESERVATION NOTICE! There is NO FEE to visit Memorial Park, but ALL GROUPS must call and make a reservation date for visits. Please call before you plan a trip to Memorial Park.
15. OUT OF COUNTY GROUPS (Schools, Churches, Day-Care Centers, etc.) Please give two (2) weeks advance reservation notice. A fee will be charged to ALL OUT OF COUNTY GROUPS visiting Memorial Park. Fees are a result of increased usage of Memorial Park facilities (fee charges began in 1992). Fee Rentals are $25.00 per bus.
REFUND/RESCHEDULING POLICY
Rental fees are due at the time the reservation is made. No facility reservation will be considered “confirmed” until complete payment is received and a valid rental agreement is completed.
Cancellations and rescheduling requests can be made up to thirty (30) days prior to the reservation date. Renters requesting to cancel prior to the thirty day deadline may request a refund (less 25% administration handling fee). If an event/rental must be rescheduled due to inclement weather at the park, renter will be given a rain check voucher that must be submitted at the time of rescheduling. Failure to produce the voucher will result in loss of credit. With a voucher, encumbered fees may be transferred for use at any Leisure Services Department facility pending availability.
No refunds will be given if the reservation is cancelled less than thirty (30) days prior to the reservation date.
